Created a webapp to visualise a family tree.

When my grandfather died, I received the family archives that he, his parents and probably his grandfather kept and collected throughout their lifetimes containing documents and pictures, the oldest document from the end of 1700, the oldest picture from around 1860. In order to group and order all that information efficiently, I created a tool that visualised the individual persons, their positions and links in the family tree, with the possibility of opening and closing branches into infinity. When clicking on the individuals, the tool opens a biography containing information of the individual, what he/she did in life, links to sources, scanned documents, pictures etc.

There is a preview available in the frame above or in this link. The real familytree, containing so far +500 individuals and +250 biographies contains private information and is kept private. It requires a login to access.

Instructions to move around the family tree preview:

• Drag and drop the mouse to move around the family tree
• Scroll the mouse to zoom in and out.
• The branch button like the image below opens and closes the branches
