CG Supervisor - Grid-vfx

As CGSupervisor, I led a team of artists, collaborating with department supervisors and production managers to ensure timely delivery within budget.

I reviewed the technical quality of the work, tracked the output using Shotgun, and assisted with pipeline setup alongside the TD department, implementing improvements to boost productivity.

I proactively solved daily challenges, managed the render farm with the IT department to ensure timely project completion, and facilitated communication with co-producers and external studios to address any technical or artistic issues. Whenever necessary, I supported the team to help meet deadlines.

3D Generalist - Grid-vfx

During this period I worked and build up experience in the different aspects of VFX/3D animation production:

  • February 2015 - August 2015: Animation film “Deep” – 3D Modeler
    • Modelling and sculpting of high and low poly assets
    • creating 3D sets using 2D reference
  • September 2014 - January 2015: Live action film "Michiel De Ruyter"Digital Compositor, layout artist and animator
    • Compositing live action footage of Michiel De Ruyter with Fusion
    • Did the layout and animation of the Full CG Shots: Animated the camera's, boats and animated the fx to create naval battles in 3D.
    • Supervised the rendering of the fx during the last weeks of the project together with a small team.
  • May 2014 - August 2014: 3D-Animation feature film: "Oops, Noah is gone" - Lighter
    • Lighting shots using Maya and Arnold
    • Creating precomps with Nuke
  • February 2014- March 2014: 3D-Animation series "Ziggy and the Zoo Tram" - Layout modeller
    • Created a low poly version of the sets of the 3D animated series "Ziggy and the Zoo Tram"
  • June 2012 - May 2014: RnD and trailers for new projects, small advertisements - storyboarding, 3D modelling, layout, animation, shading, texturing, lighting, rendering and compositing
    • Occasionally over the period, working on artistic concepts and proposals for research and developement on future/potential projects.
    • Working on different advertisements and other small projects for Grid customers: storyboarding, 3D modelling, layout, animation, shading, texturing, lighting, rendering and compositing… In short: working as a 3D generalist 
  • April 2014: Pilot for the 3D-Animation series "Little Luke and Lucy" - Layout, 3D modelling, shading, layout, lighting, rendering and compositing
